 Respiratory Therapy

Sleep Apnea

Sleep apnea is a common and serious sleep disorder that disrupts breathing during sleep. The most common form, Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA), occurs when the airways become blocked repeatedly throughout the night, causing breathing to stop for several seconds at a time.

Common symptoms:

  • Loud or persistent snoring
  • Gasping or choking during sleep
  • Excessive daytime sleepiness
  • Morning headaches
  • Difficulty concentrating or memory issues

Risks of Untreated Sleep Apnea

When left untreated, sleep apnea can increase the risk of:

  • Cardiovascular disease (high blood pressure, heart attack, stroke, arrhythmia)
  • Type II diabetes
  • Cognitive decline
  • Mood disorders (depression, anxiety)
  • Motor vehicle and workplace accidents due to extreme fatigue

We provide comprehensive sleep therapy solutions, including CPAP, BiPAP, mask fitting, and ongoing compliance support. If you are experiencing symptoms of Sleep Apnea, speak to your physician about testing.

CPAP & BiPAP Therapy: 3 Simple Steps

1. Initial Contact

Kinney Homecare’s staff will contact you within two (2) business days (Monday-Friday) to inform you that we have
received your order and will immediately start processing it through your insurance.

2. Your Appointment

Once the order has been processed and approved by your insurance, Kinney Homecare’s staff will contact you to
schedule an appointment with one of their clinicians. This usually takes 3-5 days from the date of the order

3. Begin Treatment

Our clinicians will:

  • Meet with you individually (not in a group) to answer questions in a private, confidential setting.
  • Provide a personalized mask fitting to ensure your mask is properly sized to minimize air leakage.
  • Ensure that you feel confident in the proper use and cleaning of your device.
  • In addition to providing clinical support for the duration of your treatment, Kinney Homecare will help you reach compliance within the crucial first 90 days of treatment. By using state-of-the-art CPAP/BiPAP machines equipped with wireless technology, we can monitor your therapy and identify issues in real time. (Note: Some patients who
are unable to use wireless technology may be required to bring in their card for monitoring and reporting.)
